Roads/Trails
Road Paving
The City of Colorado Springs plans to pave our roads in Rustic Hills Acres over the next several years, possibly
starting with the entrances to our neighborhood from Constitution Avenue. We will try to keep you updated on
their schedule. Except on Constitution Avenue, the speed limit everywhere in Rustic Hills Acres is 20 MPH.
Road Maintenance For questions about roads or to report a maintenance problem, please call the City at
719-385-5934.
The Historic Rock Island Trail
Rustic Hills Acres is bordered on the south by the multi-use Rock Island Trail, on the
former Rock Island Railroad line. Motorized vehicles are not allowed but you can walk,
bicycle, or ride your horse. The trail is connected to the region’s urban trails system,
enabling easy trail access west all the way downtown and east all the way to Falcon.
Rustic Hills residents were instrumental in protecting this corridor from becoming an
expressway.
Bridle Paths
One-acre lots (Filing 2) in Rustic Hills Acres have required easements for bridle paths. Please check your
property documents and honor your legally-enforceable duty to keep your bridle path easement(s) unobstructed.
Allowing safe passage of horse riders makes our neighborhood an attractive place to live, thus benefitting our
property values.
